Mae Martin @ That Time Of The Month – 8th April 2012
On Sunday 8th April, the incredible Mae Martin makes her first ever visit to Newport Pagnell to tickle us with her Canadian comedy goodness!
Mae Martin began writing and performing comedy at tender age of 13. Since then she has cemented her place in the Canadian comedy scene. She has been nominated for two Canadian Comedy Awards, and was the youngest ever nominee for the prestigious Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award. Here television credits include MuchMusic’s Video On Trial, Global Television’s “Global Comedians” (alongside Maria Bamford, Jon Dore, Dave Foley, James Smith and Matt Kirshen), The Comedy Network’s “Cream of Comedy” and the Space Network’s “Spacey Awards” among other things. She was recently featured on CBC’s “Q” as well!
Mae is currently expanding her audience across the pond, splitting her time between Canada and the U.K. After debuting her one woman show “Mae Day: I’m Not Waving, I’m Drowning.” to sold out audiences at the Toronto Pride Festival, she took the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe Festival (* * * * – ScotsGay). Look for her there this year at Just the Tonic. She has also headlined in numerous London clubs and at festivals across the country and has been a finalist at the Musical Comedy Awards and the Hackney New Act of the Year awards.
